While there is some activity for GQview...
Has anyone out there done much work with trying to use
GQView from a script. Especially with collections.
How do you use it?
I have a script that generates a list (collection) of paired images
where the images could come from different directories. This is used
for image comparison work.
The script launches gqview in background, and monitors it and up to 3
other image window displays, killing and restarting gqview as needed due
to user controls.
For example...
gqview -l a/bear.png b/polarbear.jpg a/tiger.png c/striped.xpm &
However while GQView positions main windows in the same spots, the
collection window appears anywhere. Its size and position is NOT saved.
Arrrggghhhh....
That is just one small problem I am facing, I have a number of others,
to do with directory switching and other remote control facilities. And
yet GQview is still better than any other Image viewer with 'collection'
or image 'list' capabilities.
Most other viewer 'sort' the collection list, instead of leaving it in
the order I specified, making them useless for my purposes.
Any and all suggestions welcome.
